Hair Stylist Julie B
About

With more than thirty-five years of experience under her belt, stylist Julie Benn has been styling hair professionally since she was fifteen years old. A published stylist, her work has been seen on the pages of major hairstyling magazines, such as Sophisticate's Black Hair, Black Hair Care, Blactress and the UK-based Black Hair Magazine. Her work has also been featured on US national and Caribbean television, such as CBC TV, Barbados and CBS Caribbean. Additionally, she has co-written and appeared in an instructional hair extensions video distributed to stylists throughout the continental US, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the Caribbean. She has worked on many magazines and photoshoots, styling musicians backstage, as well as actresses and models, while maintaining her regular client base. Long before she attended the Toni and Guy Hairdressing Academy in London in 1995, where she gained certification, she worked in several high-end salons in NYC and the award-winning Extension Masters, London, now defunct. Additionally, she continued to hone her skills while working as an independent and travelling stylist. A natural whose work is in demand, her emphasis has always been on the importance of hair care with a speciality in natural hair styling.
"From very early on, I decided I wanted my work to be so much more than just great hair styling. My life's work has been about offering exemplary service and building strong relationships. Educating my clients on the importance of a healthy head of hair, and emphasizing nutrition and good habits, which are paramount in maintaining a beautifully styled coif, is always offered. Specializing in protective styles and natural-looking sewn-in hair extensions, I treat all my clients equally special; everyone gets the royal treatment."
